Although we know that it is essential for us to drink at least 8 cups of water daily often times than most we end up drinking way less than our daily requirements. Our body needs water to carry out its day to day functions. Upping your water intake is especially important if you live in tropical or hot climates.


Here are 4 tips to help you meet your daily water intake requirements and also help in creating a health lifestyle:


  • Take a bottle of water when you go out - This simple means that you take a bottle of water wherever you are going, church, school, work, shopping etc. Having a bottle at all times will help you feel more inclined to drink water as opposed to not having a bottle.


  • Opt for Water instead of Juice/Alcohol - This is especially goes for when we are eating out, as we tend to consume less water when at that point. So one way to improve on this is substituting water for alcohol or juice. If do decide to drink a glass of juice or alcohol limit it to one drink and choose water for the second drink.


  • Jazz Up Your Water- If you are not big on drinking water another way to make water the more interesting choice is to add fruits to your water. When I say the options are unlimited for this, you can add one kind of fruit or a combinations of fruits such as cucumbers, apples, oranges, lemons, strawberries, raspberries, watermelons, kiwi, honeydew melons, the list goes on. You can even add herbs such as mint, thyme, rosemary and basil to the mix


  • Limit Juice Purchases When Grocery Shopping - The reasoning behind this is if your purchase less juice for your home, you will over time increase your water intake. The truth of the matter is when you have lots of options outside of drinking water you most likely choose those over water.
