Review: Otto Essien releases 'Jesus My Hero'

Updated: Oct 10, 2023

Otto Essien recently released Jesus, My Hero and we can definitely say that it's one of those songs that encourages your soul and reminds you of who Jesus. It was a refreshing sound and take, and while we could recognize certain influences, we appreciated the level of originality applied to the track and also commend the visuals that are associated! Let's jump in some more, shall we?

Firstly, take a listen for yourself, and digest the visuals, too!

Now that you've gotten your soul soothed, we've gotta acknowledge it... we're highly reminded of Kirk Franklyn when we take note of this vibe. However, building on that foundation, Otto has skillfully infused his own technique and style into this original! It was very clean and crisp and lands itself as a great everyday song to listen to for motivation, encouragement and just to worship God and give Him praise.

We particularly enjoyed the vocals. The nice balance added to the vibe and provided that clean finish and solid blend which allows for the peaceful soul song that it is, and Otto's embellishments, tone and creativity added textures!

We also must commend the visuals as they were emotive and precise, matching the entire vibe of the song.

The nicely interwoven message of this song reminds us that Jesus is always there, holding us, guiding us, protecting us as a manifestation of His unconditional love, and we should find comfort in that fact.

The song also reminds us that we ought to remember to worship, glorify and praise God in all that we do daily; with our entire being.

Overall, this song proves to be very timely; Jesus is definitely our Hero especially in our current circumstances and and the future that only He knows.

We thank Otto and his team for sharing this song for all to listen to and for reminding us to trust Jesus with our all!
